• шурша́ть – to rustle
• бурча́ть – to mutter
• брюзжа́ть – to grumble, to grouch
• дребезжа́ть – to rattle, to jingle
• бренча́ть – to strum
• урча́ть – to make a low growling or rumbling stomach noise
• журча́ть – to splatter, to babble (of water)
• мурча́ть – to murmur, to purr
• фырча́ть – to snort
• вереща́ть – to chirp, to squeal

– In this case “it” may be translated as “э́то”
– to sound good – звуча́ть хорошо́
3. Someone is knocking at the door.
– someone – кто́-то
– door – дверь
– at the door – в дверь
4. My dog growls loudly.
– dog – соба́ка
– loudly – гро́мко
5. I press the button but nothing happens.
– to press the button – жать на кно́пку / нажима́ть на кно́пку
– but – но
– to happen – происходи́ть
– nothing happens – ничего́ не происхо́дит
6. When will you start working?

7. Where are you running to?
– where (to) – куда́
8. I'm running to work, because I am late.
– work

– because – потому́ что / та́к как
– to be late – опа́здывать (this verb follows the same pattern that “ду́мать”)
